Dan Stevens is a British actor who rose to international prominence after his first major starring role as Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey. Downton Abbey is a drama series that depicts events in British history, and is set in 1927 when King George V and Queen Mary were reigning in England.
Stevens was born on 10 October 1982 in Croydon in Surrey, outer borough of London, England, UK. He started school at Tonbridge School before going to Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where he studied English Literature and participated in several student drama productions. Dan Stevens’ full name is Daniel Jonathan Stevens. He married his wife, Susie Hariet, a dancer and a teacher, in 2009 and they are blessed with three children.
